This was according to a statement by SERAP’s Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare .

The suit followed allegations documented in the 2021 audited report by the Auditor-General of the Federation, Adolphus Aghughu, which was published on November 27, 2024.

It was reported that the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said that NNPCL refineries may never work again, despite the $18 billion spent on the refineries.

The suit filed on behalf of SERAP by its lawyers, Kolawole Oluwadare, Oluwakemi Oni, and Valentina Adegoke, further partly read, “The missing oil revenue reflects a failure of NNPCL’s accountability more generally and is directly linked to the institution’s continuing failure to uphold and accountability principles.
