Emma Wakili, a fellow musician and close associate, confirmed his death in a Facebook post.

Zuya, who recently returned from Lagos after performing at several cultural events, reportedly began feeling unwell and collapsed shortly after eating the suspected meal.

He was taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi, where he was confirmed dead.

His body has been deposited in the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy as investigations continue into the cause of death.
