She expressed confidence that those defecting to the ADC will eventually return to the PDP fold.

While speaking during a strategic meeting in Ado-Ekiti with her supporters from all three senatorial districts at her campaign office, she insisted that the ADC poses no real threat to the PDP’s chances of reclaiming power in the 2026 gubernatorial election.

Ogun, a former Commissioner for Works in Ekiti State, said the internal crisis within the PDP had been largely resolved, particularly regarding the contentious position of the National Secretary, where Senator Samuel Anyanwu has been affirmed to continue in office.

“I’m not worried because every organisation experiences internal challenges,” she stated.

“What matters is how those issues are managed. The National Working Committee, NWC, is united now, and major disputes, including the one involving the national secretary, have been addressed.

“This unity is helping resolve state-level issues like the delayed congresses,” she added.

She expressed optimism that the lingering disputes in Ekiti State would soon be concluded and clarified that the resolution process does not conflict with the timetable for party primaries already released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
