In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Maria Dogo, PDP alleged that the abduction of Auta’s wife—a prominent party chieftain and outspoken critic of the Senator Uba Sani-led All Progressives Congress, APC administration, was allegedly facilitated by operatives of the Nigerian Police.
Recall that Auta had been invited by the Department of State Services, DSS, on June 5, 2025, following a social media post in which he criticized the poor state of road construction in Kaduna State.
PDP also called on the Inspector General of Police to rein in his personnel and direct them to desist from harassing law-abiding citizens. It also urged the police to channel their efforts towards addressing real security challenges rather than acting as instruments of political repression.
