The rising star earned a nomination for his collaboration with Davido on the track “With You,” which is up for Best African Music Performance at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

The 2026 Grammy ceremony is set to take place on February 1, 2026. Omah Lay expressed his excitement over the recognition but emphasized that accolades don’t hold much personal value for him. Instead, the singer redirected his enthusiasm towards his collaborator, Davido, who he credits as one of his most loyal supporters.

“I’m excited about this Grammy nomination, but I don’t give a concern about awards. Yeah, but I really want it for OBO!” Omah Lay wrote, referencing Davido by his popular moniker. “He is the realest friend I’ve had in a while, and he stood by me during my hardest times.”

Despite the recognition, Omah Lay made it clear that the real focus for him is Davido’s long-awaited Grammy win. The Nigerian superstar, who has earned four prior nominations, including two in the Best African Music Performance category since its introduction in 2023, has yet to secure a win at the award.
