Ezeh, a tailor and student of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, created a robe with sleeves measuring an incredible 51.20 metres, 167.97 feet, longer than the height of the Statue of Liberty, 46.5 m, and an Olympic-size swimming pool, 50 m.

Speaking about his achievement, Ezeh said his dream is to showcase the robe globally, “I wish to take it on a tour to display it in different countries and cities to show the world what it looks like.”

Despite completing the robe in under four hours, the process came with challenges. During his attempt in February 2024, his sewing machine broke down at different times after the needle snapped against tough fabric. When he switched to a backup machine, that needle also broke.

“At this point, I felt like crying,” he recalled. “I called my supervisor, and he quickly sent someone to get me a new pack of needles. After installing one, I continued and finally completed the robe.”

Ezeh’s record-breaking highlights not only his talent but also his determination to put Nigerian fashion on the global stage.
