The Delta North lawmaker said his marriage to Daniels was conducted “honourably” and with her family’s full consent. He stated that Daniels was 19 at the time of their union, not 17 as alleged online.

To support his position, Nwoko shared an image of a Nigerian voter’s card purportedly belonging to Daniels, indicating her date of birth as October 10, 1998. He explained that when they first met, Daniels told him she was 21, and upon his request, presented the document as proof of her age.

According to Nwoko, their marriage took place six years ago, which would make Daniels 27 years old. He dismissed all contrary reports as baseless, stressing that “the facts are verifiable and indisputable.”

The senator also accused Daniels of spreading falsehoods about their relationship, alleging that she is battling personal challenges, including a “rehabilitation from illegal drug addiction.” He urged the public to treat her claims with caution, citing concerns about her “mental condition.”

Nwoko maintained that his marriage to Daniels followed due process and that suggestions of marrying her as a minor should be disregarded.
