Former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Najeem Salam, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Salam secured the party’s ticket through a consensus arrangement, polling 520 votes out of the 528 delegates who participated in the primary election.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Chukwumeka Nwajuba, commended party members for their peaceful conduct during the exercise and urged them to remain united and committed to achieving victory at the polls.

In his acceptance speech, Salam expressed gratitude to ADC members for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to run an inclusive campaign and carry all party members along in the quest to win the governorship seat.
The primary election was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
