The incident occurred aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight traveling from Asaba, Delta State, to Lagos, causing a brief but intense disturbance onboard.
A viral video, which circulated on social media, showed the two men exchanging blows inside the aircraft, sparking widespread attention and controversy.
Following the incident, Mr. Jollof took to Instagram to issue an apology, expressing regret and clarifying that he was acting in self-defense. He apologized to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, United Nigeria Airlines, and all passengers affected by the disruption, acknowledging the negative impact of the altercation.

According to his video statement, Mr. Jollof said, “I want to sincerely apologize to the NCAA, United Nigeria Airlines, and all the passengers onboard the flight. I was only defending myself. As you saw in the video, I never intended for things to escalate this way. I’m truly sorry if I caused any delays to your plans. This isn’t who I am, and it will never happen again.”
He also expressed his remorse to his family and employer, emphasizing that the incident was out of character for him. Mr. Jollof continued, “To my wife, I know you’re proud of me. To my kids, Daddy is really sorry, and I promise this won’t happen again. And to my boss, I apologize this is not who I am.”
While details surrounding the cause of the altercation remain unclear, Mr. Jollof’s apology aims to restore his image and reassure the public that he does not condone violence.
