She announced her resignation at the plenary she presided over today as lawmakers commended her leadership style and for bringing peace to the Lagos State House of Assembly.
They also commended her strength and humility for obeying the rules and regulations of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The deputy speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Nojeed Fatai, as well as the Chief Whip of the Assembly, Sanni Okanlawon, also resigned from their positions.

The plenary was after a meeting with lawmakers, which was attended by ousted Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
After the meeting, Obasa met with Lawal Pedro, the Lagos Attorney General, and Cornelius Ojelabi, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos.
The plenary proceeded without incident as security operatives surrounded the complex to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
