In a video circulating on social media, Nata’ala, known for his role in the Dadin Kowa series on Arewa 24, revealed that he has been undergoing treatment for one year and seven months but the cost has drained his savings despite contributions from friends, clerics, and colleagues in the film industry.
“I want to thank everyone who has supported me, especially clerics, the Arewa 24 team, and Kannywood Vanguard,” he said. “I am calling on anyone I have wronged to forgive me. I need help. I have to pay ₦250,000 every three weeks for an injection, while even a hospital bed costs ₦51,000. Please help me. May Allah help us all.”
The Yobe State-born actor, who began his career in 1986, told BBC Hausa in 2021 that he has written more scripts than he has acted in.
Nata’ala is married to three wives and blessed with 10 children.
