Mohammed Sadiq, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in Plateau, issued the warning during a meeting with stakeholders on the resumption of CVR across the country.
Sadiq noted that such a move would not only attract grave consequences, but that anyone caught would be completely delisted from the voter register.
“Voter registration is not only a fundamental right, but also a duty of every eligible citizen of Nigeria.
“No individual can vote in an election unless they are duly registered.
“We urge all Nigerians who have attained the age of 18 and above and are not yet registered to seize this opportunity and get their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs.
“The commission will not accept multiple registration as any attempt to get involved in such an act may lead to such registrants being completely listed on the register,” he said.
He particularly explained that the CVR would commence as from August 18 with online registration.
He also indicated that traditional rulers, religious leaders, political parties and other critical stakeholders to sensitise the eligible residents to participate in the exercise.
The REC also called on residents of Plateau who have registered before to take advantage of the CVR exercise and collect their PVCs.
“Online registration can take place anywhere and at any time. The website to visit is http://www.crv.inecnigeria.org.
