Reigning champions Rivers Hoopers, Lagos Legends, last year’s semi-finalists Gboko City Chiefs, and Nigeria Customs secured their spots in the next phase of the competition.

Lagos Legends and Rivers Hoopers dominated the league, each finishing with records of six wins and one loss. Gboko City Chiefs followed in third place with five wins and two losses, while Nigeria Customs clinched the fourth and final spot after narrowly edging out Kano Pillars and Nile University Spartans.

These four teams will now battle for the 2025 NPBL championship, with the winner earning a coveted ticket to the Basketball Africa League. The NPBL Final Four is set to take place from November 20-24, 2025.

The games will be played in a round-robin format, with each team facing off once against the other three. Defending champions Rivers Hoopers will look to retain their title and secure their spot in Africa’s premier basketball competition.


The final day of the Final Eight saw several crucial matchups, each packed with high stakes, Gboko City Chiefs vs. Hoops and Read, Nigeria Customs vs. Kano Pillars, Nile University vs. Lagos Legends, Kwara Falcons vs. Rivers Hoopers.

With the Final Four set, the excitement is building for an intense and competitive conclusion to the 2025 NPBL season.
