The governor was on his way to Irrua in Esan Central Local Government Area when he encountered a severe traffic gridlock shortly after the bypass. Upon assessing the situation, The Governor discovered a vehicle accident scene with several victims in critical condition, many of them bleeding and receiving no immediate help.

Without hesitation, the governor directed his aides to deploy two of his security Hilux vehicles to transport the injured to a nearby medical facility. He personally supervised the evacuation, ensuring that each victim, including a woman with severe injuries, was carefully lifted into the vehicles and given urgent medical attention.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the accident was caused by the driver of a white Toyota Venza, registration number ABUJA: GWA 50 AW, who allegedly drove against traffic. The resulting head-on collision involved the Venza and three commercial minibuses carrying passengers, leaving multiple people injured and causing a major traffic disruption.

Governor Okpebholo remained at the scene until all the injured were safely transported and under the care of medical professionals, with another security vehicle providing escort.

His prompt intervention drew widespread praise from road users, residents, and passersby, many of whom commended the governor for his hands-on approach and concern for the welfare of citizens.
