Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), says he has received an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and is ready to appear before the agency.
Malami announced this in a post on his Facebook page, describing himself as a law-abiding citizen committed to transparency.
He said making the invitation public was in line with his belief in open and accountable governance.
Malami served as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice from 2015 to 2023 under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
During his time in office, he handled several major legal cases, including asset recovery efforts and financial crime matters.
He also faced public criticism over issues such as asset declarations and the management of recovered funds, allegations he denied.
The EFCC has not yet given details about why he was invited.
