The Nigeria National League, NNL, side, also known as the Naze Millionaires, is barred from registering new players for the next three consecutive transfer windows.
This sanction follows the club’s failure to settle financial obligations owed to Ivorian midfielder N’Goran Roland Adjourmani Koffi, who featured for Heartland during the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season.

In a letter sent to the club, FIFA stated that the transfer ban will remain in effect until the full amount owed to Koffi is paid. The ban takes immediate effect.
This is not the first time Heartland has faced disciplinary issues over unpaid wages. The Nigeria Football Federation’s Players’ Status and Arbitration Committee, PSAC, had previously ruled in favor of several former players including Umah Johnson, Esobe Chukwudi, Ezekiel Bassey, and Ugochukwu Leonard ordering the club to settle their outstanding entitlements.
The latest sanction raises further concerns about the financial management and player welfare at one of Nigeria’s historically prominent clubs.
