Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, issued the order during a meeting with heads of institutions, expressing concern that several schools have failed to effectively use funds meant for infrastructure development.
He said unutilised allocations would be verified and possibly redirected to priority projects, warning that institutions would no longer be allowed to carry over unused funds without clear justification.
Alausa also announced plans for capacity-building programmes to strengthen project management, compliance, and reporting, with quarterly reviews to track progress. A public dashboard will be introduced to enhance transparency, and institutions will be required to publish project updates.
