Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has announced that his long-awaited collaborative project with American R&B icon Chris Brown is set for release next year.

The award-winning Nigerian artist disclosed this in a recent interview with Billboard Arabia, opening up about his philosophy toward cross-cultural musical partnerships.

He emphasised a preference for organic, natural creative connections over forced or calculated team-ups.

“I just really make music. Whoever comes around, comes around, and we make music if we are chilling, if we are in the studio,” he said. 

“And it happens naturally. I love making music with people naturally. I do not like forcing things, running away from collaborations with the Western world.

“I have a project with Chris Brown by the grace of God and will come out this… next year.

“I just did a collaboration with Bhaskar from India. I believe music is a universal language.”

The two artistes share a rich history of collaboration. Their musical synergy began with Davido’s hit ‘Blow My Mind,’ which featured Chris Brown.

Their partnership continued in 2020 on ‘Shopping Spree’ alongside rapper Young Thug, in 2022 on Brown’s ‘Sensational,’ and also in 2024 on the track ‘Hmmm’.
