President Bola Tinubu has sent a fresh list of non-career ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.

The list includes the former Sole Administrator of Rivers State and ex–Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas; former presidential aide, Ita Enang, former Imo First Lady, Chioma Ohakim, and former Minister of Interior and ex–Chief of Army Staff, Abdulrahman Dambazau.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the nominations during plenary after reading the president’s letter.

In the letter, President Tinubu asked the Senate to quickly consider and approve the nominees to fill important diplomatic positions.

Akpabio then sent the list to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and directed the committee to screen the nominees and report back within one week.
