In a statement posted by Fabrizio Romano, Slot acknowledged the tactical challenges the team has faced, saying, “Opponents have developed effective strategies to play against us, and we haven’t found a solution yet. It’s something we need to work on.”
He also pointed out that the demanding schedule, particularly the high number of away games, hasn’t helped the team’s cause. “It’s not an excuse, but the constant travel has taken its toll,” Slot added.
Van Dijk emphasized personal accountability and the need for collective effort to turn things around. “Everyone, myself included, needs to look in the mirror,” he said. “I’m confident we’ll get through this, but it won’t happen just by talking about it. We need to show improvement on the field. The fans who celebrated with us last season should continue to support us now, through these tough times.”
