The Lagos State High Court, presided over by Justice I.O. Harrison, ruled in favour of the actress in suit no. LD/177818MFHR/2024, affirming her constitutional right to privacy.
The case, which began in January 2023, challenged a NaijaNews.com article titled: “Six Popular Nigerian Actresses Who Have Been Accused of Dating Dino Melaye,” in which Adunni Ade was listed without her consent.
According to court documents obtained by newsmen, the suit was formally titled: “In the Matter of an Application by Adunni Adewale for the Enforcement of Her Fundamental Human Right to Privacy as Guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999.”
Adunni Ade described the publication as “false, misleading, and offensive,” saying it caused her emotional distress and was designed to generate web traffic at the expense of her reputation. She argued that the article misrepresented her personal life and violated her right to privacy.
The actress made the announcement on her social media page to reveal the outcome, she said,
“I won my case a false story was published about me, but truth stood tall. This judgment reaffirms that privacy matters and so does integrity. Justice delayed isn’t justice denied.”
She also expressed appreciation for her legal team, led by Olumide Babalola LP, “Many thanks to my lawyer! You worked tirelessly on this case. Two cases won, a few more to go.”

In the same post, Adunni hinted at ongoing legal battles, warning those allegedly evading court summons ,“You who are running up and down avoiding court papers, please stand still so you can be served.”
She also addressed a veiled message to an unnamed fellow actress, accusing the person of spreading falsehoods and betrayal.
This ruling marks a notable win for Adunni Ade in her ongoing campaign to protect her privacy and reputation in an era of sensational digital reporting.
