According to a video on social media platforms, Martins appeared emotional and in pain, clutching a swollen hand reportedly injured by hot oil during an altercation with the task force.
Eyewitnesses at the scene near the Lekki-Ikate bus stop claimed the actress was cooking on the roadside for her outreach initiative when the officials disrupted the activity, seized her cooking equipment, and caused the hot oil to spill.
“Lagos State KAI came and poured her hot oil when she was cooking! She is doing this for free, with her own money,” one onlooker stated i the video.
Martins, who is the founder of the Golden Heart Foundation, eventually shared her side of the story in a follow-up video. Fighting back tears, she noted, “I cook on the streets of Lagos. Today, I came here and these officials hijacked what I was using to cook for the people. Along the line, hot oil spilled on my hand, see, my hands are swollen. I don’t even know where they’re taking me to.”
According to her, the foundation a government-registered non-profit conducts regular food outreaches to support the homeless and unemployed youth through feeding programs and skill acquisition.

He described the enforcement as part of the state’s “Keep Lagos Clean” initiative aimed at maintaining public order and sanitation.
The Lagos State Government has not indicated whether an investigation will be launched into the alleged harassment or injury of Sarah Martins.
