The Accord Party has extended an open invitation to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, amidst a leadership crisis in the state’s chapter. The party has expressed its willingness to support Adeleke in his bid for re-election in the 2026 governorship election.
In a recent interview with newsmen, Dele Oladeji, the Lagos State Chairman of Accord, highlighted that the party offers a stable and dependable platform for any serious contender, including the incumbent governor.
“We are awaiting his declaration,” Oladeji said. “Whenever Governor Adeleke decides to join us, we are ready to welcome him with open arms.”
Oladeji emphasized that Accord Party is free of internal conflicts and external interference from political godfathers, offering a peaceful structure for candidates focused on serving the people.
“Accord is a very stable and sanitised political platform. We have no factions and no godfathers. Any candidate who joins us between now and 2027 can count on a peaceful and dependable structure,” he said.
The Lagos-based party chairman also assured that, should Adeleke decide to join Accord, the party’s members would rally behind him to ensure his success in the upcoming election.
“We will work with him to ensure his victory if he steps into the fold,” Oladeji added.
Governor Adeleke, who is aiming for a second term in the 2026 off-cycle election, is reportedly considering a shift to a more stable political environment in the wake of the ongoing crisis within the PDP.
As the political landscape in Osun continues to evolve, all eyes will remain on Adeleke’s next move as he navigates his path toward the 2026 governorship race.
