Elder statesman and chieftain of Afenifere, Ayodele Adebanjo, has died at the age of 96.
It was gathered that Adebanjo died in the morning at his residence in Lekki, Lagos State.
The family confirmed the death in a statement made available to newsmen.
The foremost nationalist, former organizing secretary of Action Group and the national leader of Afenifere is survived by his 94 year-old wife, Christy Ayo-Adebanjo, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
