]]> According to the victim’s family, Abubakar was struck on the head by a police officer while riding on a motorcycle. Witnesses at the scene claimed bystanders had to pressure the officers to take him to a hospital. The family has also accused the police of attempting to cover up the incident by suggesting the motorcycle collided with a car, an account disputed by those who witnessed the event.

In response, the Kaduna State Police Command stated that the motorcycle, driven at high speed, collided with a stationary police vehicle. The rider reportedly fled the scene, leaving the injured passenger behind. Police claim their officers took the victim to the hospital and reported the incident.

The Ministry said it had activated its Youth HelpDesk to investigate the case, promising a thorough and transparent process involving all relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Police Force.

“This tragic death is a painful reminder of the need for stronger institutions and greater accountability,” said the Ministry. “We stand with Nigerian youth and remain committed to defending their rights and safety.”
