In wrestling, Christiana Ogunsanya dominated Uzbekistan’s Shokhida Akhmedova 11-1 in the 53kg freestyle final, while Miesinnei Genesis settled for silver in the women’s 50kg freestyle after a 5-1 loss to Aktenge Keunimjaeva of Uzbekistan.

On the track, Nigeria’s quartet of Bada Toyin, Ezechukwu Miracle, Omokwe Maria, and Nweke Cynthia powered to gold in the women’s 4x100m relay with a time of 44.27 seconds, edging Bahrain (44.47) and Gambia (45.05).

Additional medals included bronze for Kure Adams in the men’s javelin and Badmus Atanda in the men’s 400m. Patience George earned silver in the women’s 400m, while the men’s 4x100m team of John Caleb, Chidera Ezeakor, Ezekiel Asuquo, and James Emmanuel claimed bronze.

Kola Daniel, Special Adviser to the NSC, praised the athletes and said the commission, under Shehu Dikko, is committed to exposing Nigerian athletes to top international competitions.

Team Nigeria’s medal tally now stands at eight gold, 10 silver, and seven bronze, with more expected in para-athletics and para-powerlifting.

According to reports, emergency responders rushed to Hogan’s home Thursday morning following distress calls.

Paramedics and police patrol vehicles were spotted outside the property, before the former world champion was wheeled out on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance.

Hogan, widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, became a global phenomenon in the 1980s and 1990s, headlining WWE (then WWF) with unforgettable matches and a larger-than-life persona.

 His signature “Hulkamania” era made him a cultural icon, selling out arenas and dominating pay-per-view events for decades.
