Represented by the deputy governor, Oyebanji said bringing relief to struggling citizens gives him the greatest fulfillment as a leader. He revealed that his administration has paid N25 billion in pensions and N14.6 billion in gratuities over the past three years.

The governor noted that over 10,000 retirees currently receive regular and timely pensions, and that a monthly N100 million allocation for gratuities continues to ease the backlog.

He also approved a N20 million upward review of monthly pensions for all categories of retirees.

The Head of Service praised the governor’s commitment to retirees’ welfare, calling the gesture historic.

Retirees also lauded the government, describing the payment as a significant relief and a reflection of the governor’s empathy.
