According to Portable, Cubana visited Tinubu to pursue his own interests, neglecting the chance to speak up for Kanu’s freedom.

“When you went to President Tinubu’s office, you fought for your own self-interest. You didn’t think about your brother, Nnamdi Kanu,” Portable said, referring to the socialite’s previous visits to the president. “You went to fight for contracts and personal gain, but forgot the man who’s been jailed.”

The singer further mocked Cubana for his apparent failure to address Kanu’s situation during his meetings with the president, adding, “Did you collect money and a contract or not? Who told you Tinubu won’t get votes? He’ll be reelected.”

Portable was found guilty of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

It will be recall that he was arrested in March 2023 after physically attacking a police inspector and obstructing officers who were attempting to serve him an arrest warrant.

The singer was initially granted bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties from his immediate family.

His case was brought before the court last Thursday after failing to appear for a while. He was subsequently remanded in the state Correctional Service and brought back to court on Tuesday, when judgment was delivered.

In his judgment, Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo ruled that the singer was guilty of Counts 1 and 2. He sentenced the defendant to one month’s imprisonment with an option of a N10,000 fine for Count 1 and two months’ imprisonment with an option of a N20,000 fine for Count 2.

Police authorities in Ogun State had declared the singer wanted for allegedly attacking three state government officials during official duty in his bar in the Sango area of the state.

The Zaazoo ze crooner was arraigned on a five-count charge of conspiracy, assault, and restriction, armed with cutlasses and guns, and conduct likely to cause harm before an Isabo Magistrate Court, Abeokuta.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges while his aides – nine in number – were arraigned for similar charges before Magistrate O.L. Oke.

The nine suspects are: Nurudeen Warris, 21years, Adetola Alashe, 25 years, Samuel Adeleke, 28 years, Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, 19 years, Oluwapelumi Adeosun, 20 years, Gospel Kanu, 20 years, Precious Ohiegebo, 19 years, Ifeoluwa Babatunde, 27 years, and Fatimo Muhammed, 26 years.

They allegedly assaulted, restricted, and obstructed one Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and  Akinpelumi Oyero who are town planners.

The defendants and Portable allegedly assaulted the three town planning officers, while performing their lawful duties at Odogwu Bar owned by the popular hip-hop musician.

After pleading not guilty to the charges, Portable’s counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, urged the court to grant him bail and assured the court that the suspect is now remorseful and has learned his lessons.

Magistrate Oke granted Portable ₦2m bail with one surety in the like sum and adjourned the case till March 5 for trial.
