Plateau APC Welcomes Governor Mutfwang After Defection

The All Progressives Congress in Plateau State has welcomed Governor Caleb Mutfwang after his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, vowing its full support for his success in the party.

The APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Shittu Bamaiyi, said the party is open and non-discriminatory, stressing that joining any political party is the right of every Nigerian.

Bamaiyi described the governor’s defection as a boost to the APC, noting that the party’s strength had increased with his entry. He urged critics to respect the governor’s decision, saying that while some may be displeased, others have the right to be happy.

He expressed confidence in Mutfwang’s political experience, stating that the governor understands party politics and is expected to carry all stakeholders along.

The APC reaffirmed its readiness to give the governor the needed support as he begins his political journey in the party.

APC Confirms Defection of Plateau Governor From PDP

The All Progressives Congress has confirmed the defection of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling party.

The APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda announced during the party’s 14th National Caucuc meeting held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

Yilwatda, who hails from Plateau State, stated that the development means all states in the North Central geopolitical zone are now governed by the APC.

According to journalists, President Bola Tinubu presided over the APC National Caucus meeting at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

The defection comes weeks after a coalition of PDP members drawn from Plateau State’s 17 local government areas held a rally in Jos, urging Governor Mutfwang to defect to the APC.
