The Head, Communications Department of the Corps, Adeleye Adewale, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, saying the suspect was arrested by Amotekun operatives in the area following a report by the suspect’s mother.

The Amotekun spokesperson stated, “According to the girl’s mother, who narrated the ordeal during her report at the Amotekun office in Are Ekiti, her daughter was mercilessly raped by the man to the extent of staining her body with sperm after having carnal knowledge of her.

“She explained that her daughter, who came back home stained with seminal fluids all over her, narrated the ugly incident in sign language, owing to her condition as a deaf and dumb.

“Upon interrogation by the arresting officers of the Ifedara Local Council Development Area in Are-Ekiti, the suspect confessed to the alleged crime.

“He said that the raping act was successfully carried out in his own apartment after luring her into his room via body language and gesticulation.”

Adewale said that the Amotekun Corps had transferred the suspect to the Rapid Response Squad of Ekiti State Police Command in Ado Ekiti “for further investigation and necessary action.”

Recall that the state Amotekun Corps earlier in the month arrested a 28-year-old man, Olapade Ifeoluwa, on the allegation of raping a seven-year-old girl.

Adeleye had said in a statement that the suspect (Ifeoluwa) was nabbed at Ilawe Ekiti by operatives in the Ekiti Southwest Local Government for alleged involvement in the rape of the seven-year-old minor.

He stated, “Upon interrogation by the arresting officers of the Ekiti Southwest Local Government Command, the suspect confessed to the crime committed.

“He said that the minor was induced with watching a film and lured to his apartment, where he precipitously had carnal knowledge of her. He later ascribed his action to the devil’s work after his apprehension.

“The father of the minor explained the ordeal, noting that her daughter’s cry during the incident at Ujana Street in Ilawe Ekiti aided her rescue, through the crowd-pulling,” he stated.

Earlier in December, Amotekun arrested five persons in connection with some criminal offences, including kidnapping, attempted abduction and fraud.

In a statement released, the command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the 48 year old man, a native of Akwa Ibom but resides in Port Harcourt, lured the 12 year old girl into a stationary tricycle before assaulting her.

According to the statement, the incident occurred at Mini Orlu, off Ada-George Road, where the victim, who was on holiday with her aunt, was attacked while returning from an errand.

Iringe-Koko explained that operatives attached to the CP Strike Force mobilised swiftly after receiving a distress call and took the girl to the Police Hospital for medical examination.

The police spokesperson disclosed that exhibits recovered from the scene included a bundle of rope allegedly used to tie the victim’s hands, a wrap of fufu, and the blue tricycle.

“The suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime during interrogation. He is currently in custody alongside the exhibits while a discreet investigation continues,” Iringe-Koko added.

The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that perpetrators of crime in the state face the full wrath of the law.

He further urged parents and guardians to watch over their children and wards closely, as such predators are within our neighbourhood.

The post 48-Year-Old Man Arrested In Rivers For Defilling A Minor appeared first on Afinju FM.

The charge read that the defendant sometime in January, 2020, at Moferere in Ado Ekiti within the jurisdiction of the honourable court did rape a six-year-old girl.  According to the charge, the offence is contrary to section 31(2) of the Child’s Rights Law, Cap. C7, Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria, 2012.

In her statement to the police, the victim said, “I am a primary one pupil, l am living with my mother but my parents have separated.

To prove his case, the prosecutor, Kunle Shina Adeyemo called six witnesses and tendered statements of the defendant and medical report as exhibits.

The defendant presented his own defence through his counsel, Adedayo Adewumi. He called no witness.

Delivering his judgement, Justice Adekunle Adeleye held that the medical doctor after examination revealed likely sexual abuse but no evidence of penetration of the vagina.
