This was announced in a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Tunbosun Ogunbanwo.

The government assured that all grievances of the doctors were being looked into with utmost sincerity and urgency.

It was reported that the Medical Guild, the association of doctors under the employment of the Lagos State Government, on 26 July declared a three-day warning strike.

The warning strike, scheduled to begin on Monday, was announced by the Medical Guild at a press conference.

The state government acknowledged the concerns raised by the leadership of the guild, emphasising that the government was particularly concerned about the welfare, motivation, and productivity of all healthcare workers in the state.

The government commended Lagos residents for their patience and understanding, assuring the public that contingency plans are being implemented to minimise the impact on healthcare services during the period.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said this in a statement  in Lagos.

Osiyemi said that any unauthorised gate or barrier should be dismantled within seven days of the announcement and failure to comply with the rules would result in enforcement actions which would include removal and penalties, in line with existing regulations.

According to him, gates or barriers on public roads must remain fully open for public use between 5.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. daily, to ensure interconnectivity and free flow of traffic across the state.

He advised that all approved gates or barriers should be manned by security personnel engaged by the Community Development Associations, CDAs.

The commissioner urged all residents and CDAs to strictly comply with the laid down guidelines to foster a safe, efficient, and connected transportation network across the state.

According to him, failure to adhere to the guidelines will incur punitive measures.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority in a statement on its official X handle, said the truck which was descending from Ita-Opo, lost its brakes, hitting a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before ramming into the market.

LASTMA disclosed that three lives were lost, and the bodies have been taken to the morgue at Epe General Hospital while a  tow truck is on the ground to evacuate the affected vehicles.

It was learnt traffic has however been diverted for smooth vehicular movement.

Adeyemo said this while testifying at the coroner’s inquest in Ikorodu.

Report has it that the inquest which began on September 29, 2023, was set up by the Lagos State Government to unravel the cause of Mohbad’s death.

Mohbad died on September 12 2023, under questionable circumstances and was buried the following day.

Following the calls for justice across the nation, his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

However, during the court sitting, Adeyemo, who is also Mohbad’s nephew, told the Ikorodu magistrate court that Mohbad’s father insisted on burying him immediately after receiving N2 million from Davido.

Adeyemo also claimed that he transferred N1 million to Aloba and later gave the remaining amount to Adura, Mohbad’s younger brother, after settling hospital bills and ambulance rental fees.

According to sources,  Adeyemo further revealed that investigators took custody of the deceased’s phone after his death.

According to reports, the incident happened in the wee hours of today, precisely, around 2.20 am and one of the two-bedrooms in Flat 5, of Block 21, a two-winged, three-story building of 16 two-bedroom flats, was burnt.

A preliminary investigation conducted by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, revealed that the fire originated from an electrical surge in the children’s room.

The Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, said the fire completely destroyed the children’s bedroom, resulting in loss of properties worth millions of naira.

The prompt and coordinated efforts of the Agency’s LRT, NPF, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, ensured the fire was contained and extinguished quickly.

Fortunately there was no loss of life and injuries sustained in the incident.
