According to a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, the rally will be held at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park, Akure, Ondo State from 10am.

No fewer than 17 political parties will participate in the forthcoming election.

The parties cleared for the election, as released by INEC, include the ruling All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Accord Party, Action Alliance, African Action Congress, African Democratic Congress, African Democratic Party and All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Others are the Allied Peoples Movement, Action Peoples Party, Labour Party, New Nigeria Peoples Party, National Rescue Movement, Peoples Redemption Party, Social Democratic Party, Youth Party, Young Progressives Party and the Zenith Labour Party.

As campaign activities peak, the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress again clashed on Tuesday over alleged plans to rig the governorship election.

The PDP, in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Peretei, alleged that the APC leadership planned to have some of its party members as presiding officers of the INEC for the election.

The PDP Ondo State chapter had in a statement said the APC is banking on compromising the election at all costs, having failed tragically to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

However, the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alex Kalejaiye, said the party had no reason to compromise the election, adding that the people of Ondo love the incumbent governor Aiyedatiwa.Kalejaiye described the PDP allegation as untrue and baseless.

He said this during a meeting with the World Bank Nigeria team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Shettima, who said that the move would address human capacity and resource challenges to improve learning outcomes, assured that President Bola Tinubu was committed to driving change in the country.

He said that with the evolving global technological landscape President Tinubu would harness all the available opportunities to add value to the country.

Shettima referenced India’s success in using KYAN smart class solutions, to teach students in rural areas, suggesting that similar innovations could revolutionise Nigeria’s education system.

He advocated a holistic approach to education reform, including improving infrastructure, teacher training, and the implementation of technology.

He said the federal government is committed to making the necessary changes, but the cooperation of all stakeholders, including state governors, is needed to drive this transformation forward.

Earlier, the World Bank’s Country Director for Nigeria,  Ndiame Diop, outlined the bank’s focus on improving governance, health, and education across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory ,FCT.

Diop, in a presentation on Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity in Nigeria’s Human Capital,said the bank was working to reinvigorate governance, primary healthcare, and education facilities across the country.

Diop said the projects, HOPE – Governance, HOPE Primary Health Care and HOPE Basic Education, are part of a broader push to reform governance processes, primary healthcare and education, with an emphasis on human capital development.

According to Diop, HOPE series interdependent operations are result-based financing – programme for results – primarily at the sub-national levels.

The committee is of the strong and informed opinion that, considering the fragile structure of the Nigerian federation and recognising the dire consequences of any foreseen or unforeseen mishap that may arise as a result of the technical or operational inadequacy of the presidential air fleet, it is in the best interest of the country to procure two additional aircraft as recommended,” the report reads.

In May, the house of representatives mandated the committee to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the aircraft in the presidential fleet to ascertain their airworthiness and technical status.

The House resolution was sequel to a motion sponsored by Satomi Ahmed, chairman of the House Committee.   There was a heated debate on the floor of House when the motion was moved.

Some lawmakers suggested that the President should travel via commercial aircraft or by road.  Ahmed’s motion followed reports of faulty aircraft in the presidential air fleet, forcing the President to use a chartered plane from the Netherlands to Saudi Arabia during his recent trip abroad.
