According to a statement from the spokesperson to the State Governor, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke issued the directive after he confirmed the implementation of his earlier directive for the distribution of food and relief materials to the displaced people through the palaces of each troubled town.

The Governor was quoted as saying “The emergency agency will be providing food materials and accessories for the displaced people while the situation normalizes.

Meanwhile, Governor Adeleke has commended security agencies for promptly implementing his directive for the grilling and prosecution of key ringleaders in the communal crisis.

Adeleke said he expects all suspects to be charged in court as soon as possible.

The 24-hour curfew continues amidst further tightening of security surveillance in the towns.

In a statement shared via its official X handle, the party declared, the Government in Osun State under Ademola Adeleke has made significant strides in various sectors since assuming office in the last two years.

Meanwhile, according to the PDP statement, the cornerstone of Adeleke’s administration has been infrastructure development, particularly road construction and rehabilitation.

The statement noted that his government has successfully completed over 90 kilometres of intercity roads across the state’s nine federal constituencies.

The PDP stated that the initiative has improved connectivity, enhanced economic activities, and facilitated the movement of goods and people within and beyond the state, underscoring the transformative impact on the state’s economy.

The party also noted that Adeleke’s administration has also prioritised grassroots empowerment, investing nearly N389.5 million in grants to assist 50 communities and 13 vulnerable groups.

According to the PDP, these grants have enabled communities to implement micro-projects tailored to their specific needs, fostering inclusivity and local development.

The healthcare sector has seen notable reforms, particularly through the state health insurance scheme, which now includes 23,000 pensioners, the statement further stated, adding that this expansion is aimed at ensuring access to quality healthcare for all citizens, including retired public servants.

The PDP also commended the Adeleke administration for resolving longstanding pension issues, revealing that N28 billion has been disbursed to pensioners as payment for backlogs of pensions and gratuities owed by previous administrations.

Summarising the administration’s achievements, the PDP affirmed that Adeleke has improved the lives of Osun State citizens through initiatives that span multiple sectors.

Adeleke accused Ganduje of being discontent with the South West’s peace and unity behind President Tinubu and attempting to fuel regional political tensions to undermine the president’s position ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Osun governor described Ganduje’s comments as anti-democratic and said the APC national chairman’s stance was at odds with Tinubu’s democratic values.

He pointed out that in Kano, local dynamics ensured the continued success of the Kwankwasiyya group, which outperformed Ganduje’s faction despite his eight years in office.

He further invited Ganduje to study Osun’s political dynamics, warning that what works in Edo and Ondo would not succeed in Osun for various reasons.

Adeleke also mentioned that many opposition members had recently defected to the ruling party, strengthening the PDP’s position in Osun, and stated that Ganduje did not have the mandate from President Tinubu to ignite conflicts in the South West.

Addressing the graduates, the Pro Chancellor of Adeleke University, Dr Deji Adeleke tasked them to sustain hope in the time tested reality that hard times would surely pass.

Adeleke warned that under no circumstances should they lose hope of a better tomorrow.
