BoT Chairman, Adolphus Wabara, said the letter was properly signed by both the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, and Senator Anyanwu, during a meeting of the National Executive Committee.

He explained that the signing took place in the presence of key party members, including governors, BoT representatives, and NEC members.

Wabara said the records show that Anyanwu also served as secretary of the Contact and Mobilisation Sub-Committee for the convention, where he co-signed official documents with the committee chairman, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.

He added that Anyanwu even sent a letter requesting financial approval for the committee’s inaugural meeting, which carried his signature.

According to Wabara, these documents are still with the party and the relevant committees.

The BoT described Anyanwu’s forgery claim as “false and misleading,” saying it was an attempt to discredit the party’s leadership and confuse the public.

Wabara reaffirmed that the PDP remains united and committed to a transparent and credible convention, scheduled to take place in Ibadan.
