The party also alleged a devious ploy of the All Progressive Congress ,APC, to stall the order given by a competent Court for the PDP, to inspect election materials at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC, at Aduwawa, and were tactical, thereby beating the APC to its own game.

Aziegbemi alleged that while the PDP was busy gathering evidence to pursue its case at the tribunal, the APC and its chairman, Jarret Tenebe were lying and spreading falsehood to actualise the evil ploy of the APC.

On the release of PDP chieftains arrested before the elections, Aziegbemi said, before the election, most of their members were arrested by a special unit of the Nigerian Police from Abuja. He noted  that most of the guys have been released as they paid cumulatively about N64 million and the police said bail is free.

Three weeks after the contest, Akpata said he wouldn’t approach the Tribunal, despite citing irregularities and electoral malpractice in the exercise.

According to him, his decision not to contest the election results at the tribunal is not an indication of compromise; rather, it is a strategic move aimed at redirecting their energies towards systemic changes that democracy desperately needs.

In a statement from the commission’s Resident Electoral Commissioner Anugbum Onuoha, the  collation would kick off by 10 am.

The collation will take place at INEC head office in Benin, Edo capital.

This comes as INEC data showed that 98.23 percent of results from polling units have been uploaded into its Result Viewing Portal as of the time of filing this report.

Davido made the allegation in a series of posts on his X handle amid the ongoing gubernatorial election in Edo State.

Reports confirmed that 3329 results out of 4,519 polling units where elections held in the state have been uploaded.

Recall that Anugbum Onuoha, the Resident Electoral Commissioner ,REC, in Edo, had assured that the governorship election results would be transmitted electronically.

Onuoha spoke in an interview, stressing that only a poor network could hinder the transmission of results to the viewing portal ,IReV.

Ighodalo slammed the former governor with a N20 billion lawsuit.

The governorship candidate, through his counsel, Ayo Asala ,SAN, & Associates, also sought an immediate retraction and apology for the false, defamatory, and malicious comments which should be published in at least two National Television Networks and three nationally circulating newspapers.

He noted that the allegations by Oshiomhole were baseless, false, and malicious, describing them as another of such defamatory fabrications and statements made by the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District in the recent past.

According to him, the fabrication of the unfounded and false story is a figment of Oshiomhole’s imagination intended to denigrate his good character and reputation for the political purpose of advancing the sinking fortunes of Oshiomhole’s party and candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State.
