The Vice Chancellor of the University, Jesse Uneke disclosed this at the institution’s premises during the 4th matriculation ceremony of the university.

He noted that two students were expelled for examination misconduct, three received a one-year suspension for stealing, and five received a one-year semester suspension for the same offence.

Uneke further said three were withdrawn for poor academic performance.

He urged the students of the university to focus on their studies and avoid any act that can affect their stay in the school, warning that the university has zero tolerance for anti-social behaviours.

The Vice-Chancellor said the varsity, which started with 26 students in 2021, has experienced an unprecedented increase in student population and now has 2,496 students.

He noted that 990 students were newly admitted into the university this year.

Uneke further disclosed that the institution has treated 200 cancer patients from various parts of the country.

He said the university cancer centre is fully operational and has treated 200 cancer patients coming from various parts of Nigeria as of December 2024. In 2024, the services were expanded to include chemotherapy. The centre’s official flag-off will take place on March 8, 2025.
