Munich was the only city that stepped forward for the 2028 final after hosting it in 2025 when Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Inter Milan 5-0.

Munich also hosted the elite European club final in 1979, 1993, and 1997 in the Olympic Stadium and in 2012 and 2025 at the Allianz Arena.

This season, the final is scheduled for the Puskas Arena in Budapest, while the Metropolitano in Madrid will host in 2027.

UEFA will decide between London and Barcelona for the 2029 final in September 2026.

Two brace from Bukayo Saka and a goal from Kai Havertz gave Arsenal the win over the French Ligue 1 side at Emirates Stadium.

Bayern coach, Vincent Kompany said it was too early to determine his side’s chances in the competition noting that some teams have had four difficult games and some have had easier ones. He said their goal is not the top eight but to be number one.

Visiting coach, Luis Enrique said his side would not adjust their approach despite Bayern’s firepower.

Like Bayern, Ligue 1 leaders PSG are six points clear and unbeaten in their domestic league.

This season’s Champions League final will be played in Munich.
