Hollywood actor Val Kilmer, known for his iconic roles in films like Top Gun and Batman Forever, has died at the age of 65.
As confirmed by his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, he passed away from pneumonia today in Los Angeles. Though he was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, he later recovered, but complications from treatment affected his vlimitedoice and his acting career.
Despite his health struggles, Kilmer made a triumphant return to the screen in 2022, reprising his role as Iceman in Top Gun: Maverick alongside Tom Cruise.
In 2021, Kilmer released a deeply personal documentary, Val, which chronicled his life and career using 40 years of home recordings. The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, also showed Kilmer speaking with a voice box after his cancer treatment.
Kilmer is survived by his two children.
