Okpebholo recalls Edo Attorney General from suspension

The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has lifted the suspension of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Samson Osagie, with immediate effect.

The Attorney General’s reinstatement is contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Umar Ikhilor, dated March 12, and made public last night.

Recall that the governor suspended Osagie in February, alongside the chairman of the state Local Government Commission, Damian Lawani, over alleged financial infractions.

Reacting to the development, Osagie applauded the Governor and appreciated his sincerity of purpose and vision for the state.

Osagie said the Governor’s action clearly indicates that he means well for Edo State.

The Attorney General reaffirms his commitment and loyalty to Okpebholo’s administration, saying he remains dedicated to supporting the Governor in ensuring Edo recovers lost ground and achieves its rightful place among leading states in Nigeria.
