Speaking at the ceremony held at the premises of the hospital, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Dr. Fikayo Benson, noted that the donation is a way of improving the lives of people living with mental health challenges and a way of making the hospital able to admit and manage more patients, considering the little attention given to mental health patients.
Dr. Benson stated that the Foundation’s mission is to be Africa’s foremost mental health organization, catering for people with mental illness.

He explained that the support programme is in phases, emphasizing that the foundation has, on a weekly basis, been supporting in subsiding hospital bills and adopting patients with mental health issues and reintegrating them back into society.
The Foundation’s CEO acknowledged the sponsorship and partnership of an Ede-born, US-based IT expert, Adeniyi Adediran, highlighting his significant contribution to making the donation program a success.
He commended the state government’s initiatives, saying his contributions complement their ongoing efforts.
While receiving the donation, the Consultant of the Department of Mental Health Services, State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Racheal Dare, commended the organizers of the programme and pledged efficient management of the materials.
