The spokesman for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed this in a statement said that the deceased had climbed into the transformer house and while attempting to cut a wire, got electrocuted and died.
She revealed that the incident was reported to the police by the chairman of the Irewole community.
Report gathered shows that the community has been facing issues with the theft and damage of electrical wires from their power transformer.

Odutola said the chairman of the Irewole community, Rasheed Ajagbe on Friday reported to the station that for a while, the community had been experiencing theft and damage of electrical wires from their power transformer.
She said Ajagbe reported that around 7 am, he received a call to inspect the transformer and went there with other community executives, adding that when they arrived at the transformer house, they found the lifeless body of an unidentified individual and saw that the man had attempted to vandalise a wire, which then resulted in electrocution.
Odutola stated that a team of detectives visited the scene and took photographs, the PHCN office was contacted and the corpse was taken and deposited at General Hospital Ifo mortuary, for autopsy and preservation.
