However, Manchester United came into the second period and turned the game around with two goals in two minutes.
Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes leveled the parity for the Red Devils in the 88th minute from the penalty spot.
Amad latched onto a through ball from Lisandro Martinez and beat Ederson to score the winner in the 90th minute.
De Gea, who now plays for Italian side, Fiontina, reacted on X after the clash.
