The ruling House made this appeal at a press conference  where they noted that only four houses, the Metiku, Falade, Ademuyiwa, and Atere have the legitimate ancestral right to Chieftancy of Sooko of Itakun as opposed to the two purportedly declared.

Speaking at the press conference, the House traced the Chieftancy dispute to the inclusion of Omomimi house which however paved way for Molaja house to also be slugging Obaship out with the rightful contestants.

The inclusion of Omomimi as the 5th Ruling Houses was the beginning of the chieftaincy dispute and the Awodeyi’s 4 Ruling Houses resisted the inclusion which led to the setting up of the Abegunde’s Commission of inquiry and the Chieftaincy Commissioner then was  L.O. Adegbite.

The House further charged the Osun State Government to maintain respect for court rulings on the matter as some malicious officials are seen violating the competent court jurisdiction while hinting that failure to do so is an infringement on the rule of law.
