The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo has been declared winner of the Edo State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
According to the results announced by the Returning Officer, Faruk Kuta, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, at the commission’s collation center in Benin city, APC led by ,291,667 votes, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, follows with 247,274 while the Labour Party, LP, is third with 22,761 votes.
The three major contenders in today’s governorship election in Edo state include Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party, LP.
