A statement from Bello’s Director of Media, Ohiare Michael, said the former Governor, accompanied by the state governor, Ahmed Ododo, left the commission’s office after he was told to leave by the officers who did not interrogate him as expected.
The statement said it was not clear why Bello was not interrogated but asked to leave.
Recall that the case has been before a competent court of jurisdiction, and Yahaya Bello had been duly represented by his legal team at every hearing.
The former Governor decided to honour the invitation to clear his name as he has nothing to hide and nothing to fear.
However, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has denied reports that Yahaya Bello was in its custody.
EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, maintained that Bello remained wanted with a subsisting warrant of arrest.
