The summit, themed “Connecting Progress with Purpose,” is, according to the Osun State Government, aimed at positioning the State as a major industrial and commercial hub in Nigeria and West Africa at large, by convening stakeholders in the Osun Industrial ecosystem to facilitate partnerships and investments in the State.
Gov. Adeleke expressed his utmost joy over the success of the program and hinted that Osun State is open to business across borders irrespective of color and tribe.
The Governor, who was represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, enumerated some of the strengths of Osun State, which include fertile land, prompt certificate of occupancy, adequate supply of electricity, improved security, among others.
Vice president of the Federation, Kashim Shettima, represented by his Special Adviser on Economic Affairs, Tope Fasua, stated that Osun State had initiated a laudable program worthy of emulation by other states in the country.
Shettima said if every state would tow this line of advanced commercialization and industrialization,
Nigeria will witness an atomic explosion of manufacturing ventures which adds importance and value to the economy.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industries, Bunmi Jenyo, noted that the Summit is a platform to make business owners in Osun State thrive not only in Nigeria but across borders through proper and deserving connections.
He also reiterated the present administration’s intentionality to boost the State’s economy through
building human capabilities and generating employment. Jenyo said the Adeleke Government is very deliberate about stimulating the economy, building human capacities, creating wealth, and generating employment.
The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, assured the public of Israel’s readiness to partner with Nigeria through Osun State, being a foremost Agrarian State in the country. He however encouraged a symbotic relationship. According to him, Israel is ready to work with Nigeria through promoting Agriculture and other sectors.
