Osun @ 33: Adeleke Seeks Unity Across Political Lines

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has sought the support of all citizens, regardless of political divides, for a united effort towards greater progress of the state.

In a broadcast message commemorating the 33rd anniversary of the state’s creation , Adeleke emphasised the need to pursue development of the state, ensuring that every citizen of the state benefits from the fruits of its labour.

Osun State was created from Oyo State on August 27, 1991, by the military government of General Ibrahim Babangida, as part of a nationwide state creation exercise that led to the creation of nine new states including Osun, Abia, Enugu, Delta, Jigawa, Katsina, Kogi, Taraba, and Yobe.

Highlighting some of the achievements recorded since 33 years if its inception, he said the state has witnessed tremendous progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development.

He also expressed gratitude to citizens, saying, the peoples support, contributions, and unwavering belief in the potential of the state have been the driving force behind its progress.
