A former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, has faulted President Bola Tinubu’s national broadcast, seeking an end to the ongoing nationwide hunger protest.
Dalung, who led the anti-government protest in Jos, Plateau State last Thursday, was again at an open-air Sunday church service held by the protesters in Jos.
Speaking to journalists at the Old Airport Roundabout, with a large crowd of protesters, including Christian and Muslim leaders, Dalung described Tinubu’s broadcast as empty, insisting that the protest was far from finished.
The protesters, brandishing the Nigerian flag, blocked the Old Airport Roundabout, compelling motorists to seek alternative routes within the metropolis.
Some of them said the church service was significant because they believed that God still had the capacity to intervene in the affairs of Nigeria and turn things around for good for the suffering citizens.
