I’m honoured’ – Celine Dion relishes comeback performance at Paris Olympics opening ceremony

Grammy-winning Canadian singer, Celine Dion has relished her first performance in four years which was at the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony in Paris, France.

The 56-year-old ailing singer performed ‘Hymne à l’amour’ by the French singer, Édith Piaf from the base of the Eiffel Tower in what was an instantly iconic moment.

Dion, who has not performed publicly since 2020 amid her battle with stiff-person’s syndrome, released a statement to relish her iconic performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This is Dion’s second performance at the Olympic Games. 

She performed at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. According to TMZ, Dion was paid for her performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.  

Celine Dion had vowed that she wouldn’t let her Stiff Person Syndrome battle stop her from performing again.
